Santa Marta, Colombia Register Here The Economics will take place in Colombia during the week of 23rd -28th October 2023. The conference is organized by an inter-institutional consortium composed of the following Colombian Universities: Universidad del Magdalena, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad de Los Andes, and Universidad del Valle, and by the Mesoamerican and Andean Societies for Ecological Economics. The conference will have two main events, starting with a specialized course for decision makers from across Latin America and other stakeholders, to be held on the 23rd and 24th of October in the capital city of Bogotá, followed by the main conference, comprised of academic sessions and dialogues between ways of knowing, which will take place in the Caribbean city of Santa Marta, from the 26th to the 28th of October. The conference will employ several innovations inspired by our shared experiences of mixed formats in recent years: sessions will be organized around both regular and special tracks, as well as by format-free events. The latter include courses, workshops, and artistic interventions. Regular and special tracks will consist in a series of sessions for discussing pre-recorded presentations. A platform for uploading and watching pre-recorded presentations will be available on this website. Participants are expected to watch the presentations before attending the in-person conference. The conference will be fully in-person (there will be no hybrid sessions) . The mixed-format environment of the conference will enable us to allocate more time to Q&A and discussion during the in-person sessions. See here what we mean by regular tracks, special tracks and format-free events. The course for policymakers in Bogotá (23rd -24th Oct, 2023) will be in Spanish. The main conference in Santa Marta (26 th -28 th Oct, 2023) will be bi-lingual (Spanish and English). However, sessions will be held in one of the two languages (announced in advance). Sessions making use of both languages are not possible because simultaneous translation won’t be available during the conference. Each session of the tracks has information about when and where the in-person session will take place at the Universidad del Magdalena in Santa Marta. This conference is designed as a two-step experience, both equality important: Navigate the site, look for what interests you, but also allow yourself to be surprised. Please watch the presentations before attending the in-person conference. Take notes of your questions and comments. Bring your notes to the conference. Make choices and look for the date and place of the sessions you would like to attend. During the in-person conference in Santa Marta, participate actively in the sessions, posing your questions/comments and exchanging ideas. We will devote efforts to providing food from local culinary traditions and involving local chefs. Only non-speakers will be allowed to pay the fees after July 7th, 2023. Speakers compulsorily must pay the fee before July 7th. Registration is requested to send their pre-recorded presentations. IMPORTANT OBSERVATION : It is required to be a member of the ISEE to register for the conference. If you are not a member yet, you can register here . Our minimum membership fee is 18 USD/year. CANCELLATION POLICY: Registration cancellations are possible until July 7th, 2023, with a 50% refund of the fees paid. After July 7th, 2023, cancellations/refunds are no longer possible.
